Although I am late by almost 31 days, it is a New Year of sorts.
Guyana still looks lovely after a hectic trip abroad. Returning to the solid waste in the trenches hasn’t been as welcome though.
For a population of a little over 750,000 people, the garbage generated is on many levels a sad reminder of the bleak outlook of it’s citizens. It also shows a distinct lack of empathy for one’s neighbours leave alone the rest of the environment.
A beautiful country like this blessed with bountiful nature could have at it’s helm a caring government and a caring public.
