The pineapples in Georgetown are rather strange these days.

I happened to get one, that didn’t have a large crown, nor a small crown. What it had was a crown that was long.

Having heard rumours about people trying to speed up the pineapple harvest and having plants mature quicker than the 18 to 19 months, I wonder what they might be feeding those pineapples.

I observed the same trend in lettuce selling at the supermarket, long lettuce instead of nice compact whorls. Now I wonder if I want to eat bolted lettuce? Especially since it would turn a bit bitter at this stage. But bolted pineapple crowns suggest other things. Something I need to look further into.
