I sometimes wonder whenever I read Kaieteur News Online, about the unusual portrayal of Murder mysteries in Guyana. Real murders that have occurred in the country, some of which remain unsolved.

So if you wish to read about the Kitty Strangler or the Butcher of Bartica or even about the Claw Hammer Killer, you know where you’ll find your fill of gore and mystery.

The columnists make the read interesting but it would leave you with the unsavoury assumption that Guyana is steeped in insecurity and savagery.

I am still researching into this so I may (hopefully) debunk this myth (which I hope it is).
